Issy's Coffee & Gift Shop open during Centre hours
The JHGC is located at 1 Duncombe Road, Forest Town, opposite the Four Seasons/Westcliff Hotel and off of Jan Smuts Avenue. For those sightseeing on the Hop-on Hop-off bus using the Green Tour, the JHGC is only a safe 10-15 minute walk away from the Johannesburg Zoo stop.
Secure underground parking is available for visitors free of charge.
Admission & Guided Tours
Admission to the JHGC is free of charge, though donations are always appreciated to help us in sustaining our educational programmes.
Tour guides are available to show you around the JHGC and Permanent Exhibition, including an explanation of the incredible architectural symbolism of the building, our history and activities. Your visit to the JHGC also includes access to our temporary exhibitions and resource centre.

The JHGC is fully accessible to visitors who use mobility assistive devices:
- Elevators are available to access all floors.
- Ramps are available where there is a change in floor height.
- Accessible restrooms are available on the ground floor.
