March of the Living
The March of the Living (MOTL) is an annual educational programme, which brings students and adults from all over the world to Poland, in order to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate.
MOTL is an international organisation based in New York City. As there is no official organisation coordinating the MOTL in South Africa, the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre volunteers to assist the international office in this regard – working closely with our sister centres in Cape Town and Durban, as part of the South African Holocaust & Genocide Foundation. We will be assisting with the facilitation of information, payments, delegate preparation for the trip and anything pertaining to the participation of the delegation from South Africa.
Please see our dedicated March of the Living South Africa website for more information.
Travel & Learn with the JHGC
The Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre will be launching our pilot "Travel and Learn" programme in June 2019, drawing on years of expertise in the field, as well as our engaging and dynamic educational methodologies.

The Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre has also partnered with several academic institutions and private groups to assist with organising tours to Rwanda, Poland and Germany. In recent years this has included tours with Monash University Australia and South Africa, the University of the Free State and the University of Cape Town.
